Portal Protegido

Portal Protegido is a monumental dual statue depicting two towering guardian figures standing back to back, holding aloft a vertical rift of dark energy between them. Measuring 103 blocks wide by 91 blocks high, this imposing sculpture commands attention with its dramatic poses, massive feathered wings, and intricate stone texturing.

The Design and Architecture

Two armored figures form the core of this statue, each crowned with sharp horns and gripping a slender column topped with End Rod arrays that reach toward the sky. Expansive wings sweep outward and upward from their backs, detailed with layered plumage that adds depth to the massive span. Between the guardians, a vertical blade of Obsidian and Crying Obsidian bleeds purple light, creating a striking focal point that anchors the symmetrical composition.

Palette and Shading

A weathered, monochromatic stone palette gives the statue an ancient and enduring feel. The bulk of the form relies on Block of Iron and Polished Diorite for bright highlights, while Smooth Stone, Stone, and Stone Bricks build out the midtones. Shadows and age are rendered through heavy applications of Cracked Stone Bricks and Mossy Cobblestone, giving the impression of stone beaten by centuries of weather. Hints of Deepslate Coal Ore provide dark contrast, and clusters of Budding Amethyst, Small Amethyst Bud, and Cave Vines weave nature and magic into the cracks of the monument.

Placement and Display

Due to its grand scale and striking verticality, this statue serves as an exceptional centrepiece for an ambitious hub, a world spawn point, or the threshold of a major megabase. It is designed to be viewed from all sides, making it ideal for an open courtyard, a cavernous underground hall, or floating as a standalone monument in the sky.
