À propos de cette construction

This monumental stone statue captures the enigmatic silhouette of the Bloop, the famous ultra-low frequency underwater sound that captivated oceanographers. Spanning 58 blocks in width and 64 blocks in length, this aquatic creature features an imposing, blocky head with a massive, cavernous mouth that opens wide into the dark.

The Design

The statue is built on a grand scale, utilizing a stepped pixel-art technique to curve the massive body and smooth the organic contours of the creature. Two prominent flippers sweep outward from the sides, while a detailed, split tail fin extends sharply from the rear, giving the sculpture a strong sense of dynamic motion through the water. The interior of the gaping maw is lined with deep, dark blocks that create a profound sense of depth and shadow.

Palette and Materials

Constructed entirely from vanilla materials, the statue relies heavily on Stone for its primary bulk, complemented by Stone Slab and Stone Stairs to feather the edges and create smooth gradients along the curved back and flippers. The interior of the mouth uses Black Concrete to establish a stark, pitch-black void that contrasts sharply with the pale grey exterior.

Placement and Use

Designed primarily as an ocean landmark or coastal display, this statue makes a striking centrepiece for a marine-themed world, a deep-sea base entrance, or an open-water museum. Placing it near a large body of water allows the massive form to emerge from the waves, capturing the mysterious and colossal nature of ocean cryptids.
