Winged Angel Statue with Spiked Halo

A colossal angel looms overhead, wings thrown wide and a jagged halo of dark spikes crowning its bowed, faceless head. One hand grips a long spear that trails diagonally past its side, while the figure stands rooted on a small mound of grass and dirt.
Design
- The pose is dynamic rather than static: wings fully extended and slightly asymmetrical, robes and musculature carved into the torso and legs with layered stone textures.
- The halo is formed from alternating dark spikes and pale bands, ringed by a smooth curved base, giving it a crown-of-thorns silhouette rather than a simple disc.
- The small octagonal grass plinth at the feet is the only ground element, keeping the focus entirely on the figure itself.
Palette and materials
- The body is built almost entirely from a blended grey stone palette - polished andesite, stone bricks, smooth stone, cracked stone bricks, diorite and basalt - which together create the mottled, weathered look of carved stone across the wings and figure.
- Polished blackstone, blackstone bricks, and a blackstone wall form the dark halo and its trim, with end rods providing the thin spiked points.
- Azalea leaves, dark oak leaves, and ochre froglight sit at the base, giving the mound a touch of living greenery and a soft glow beneath the statue's feet.
Placement
At 140 blocks wide with wings fully spread, this piece needs an open plaza, cliffside, or floating platform to read properly from a distance - it is designed to be seen from below or across a skyline rather than tucked into a small build.
