About this build

A simple, tileable bone meal based villager crop farm designed for Minecraft 1.21+. It achieves 0.9 mspt per 72k crops harvested/h with less than 0.01 percent item loss, operating entirely playerlessly.

How it works

  • Uses a BUD to bone meal and break the villager crops within 1gt, allowing them to replant a new crop every 7gt.
  • Performs item collection and bone meal distribution during the night to reduce peak lag.
  • Features automatic farm shutoff when bone meal runs out, along with safety features in the UI to prevent starting with no bone meal.
  • Includes rain and thunder compatible daylight detection to ensure bone meal distribution happens after the workday regardless of weather.

Limitations

  • The 3 dispenser setup is inefficient for beetroot growth, resulting in a 43.75 percent success rate per cycle.

Instructions

  • This design is directional, so do not rotate the build.
  • This design must be built in the overworld.
  • Villagers do not need to be traded with. If you are farming wheat or beetroot, ensure that their inventory is full. For carrots or potatoes, ensure that they have at least 2 crops.
  • To set up the Chiseled Bookshelf, insert and remove a book from the bottom right slot.
  • The storage for bone block shulkers is expandable. Each module in the farm will consume 3 boxes per hour with sleep, and 1.6 without.
  • The waterstreams for item collection can be replaced with nether portals for higher lag efficiency and simpler collection, which is recommended at large sizes.
  • Box loaders and storage should be built 32 or more blocks from villagers to reduce item lag.
  • Fill containers with either bone meal, bone meal shulkers, or bone block shulkers, depending on the variant, and flick the Lever to toggle the farm.

Before you build
