Compact Two-Tier Sugar Cane Farm Module
by Star Platinium · Updated
1 / 5 · 3/4 right

A tidy, self-contained farm built to grow and harvest sugar cane without any player input, packed into a single glass-walled module.
How it works
- Each of the 48 growing columns pairs a mud planting block with an observer facing the cane.
- When the observer detects the cane growing to full height, it fires a short redstone pulse through the wire to a piston.
- The piston knocks the top cane block off, and the drop falls onto a hopper below, which feeds it along the row into one of the two chests at the ends.
- The whole cycle repeats endlessly, so cane never grows past the harvest point and the farm never idles.
Layout and scale
- The module measures 15 by 13 by 10 blocks and is split into two stacked farming decks connected by iron chains, effectively doubling output in the same footprint.
- Smooth stone slabs form the walkway and support level between the decks, keeping the mechanism compact and easy to inspect.
- Glowstone panels set into the frame keep the interior lit so the cane grows on schedule.
Materials and placement
- The build is entirely enclosed in glass, making it easy to drop straight into a build without clashing with surrounding terrain, and the oak leaves along the top edge soften its outline.
- Because it is a fully boxed module, it can simply be placed on flat ground or set into a farm complex; just connect a hopper or minecart line to the output chests to pull the harvested cane further into a storage system.
